Sip & Savor: February 2024

Welcome to my first Sip & Savor post! I have been wanting to do these posts since launching the site and now I’m happy to share with you my favorite tea and scone pairings each month.

Since we are celebrating Valentine’s Day, it is most appropriate that I share the Harney Valentine’s Day tea blend. It is one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it also. Notes of chocolate and rose petal combine my favorite things about this holiday. Imagine a box of chocolates and a bouquet of roses right in your teacup. Personally, I prefer this blend in loose leaf but it is available in a silk sachet also.

Since we are going all in on everything related to the holiday of love, I’m sharing my favorite Valentine’s Day scone recipe, White Chocolate Raspberry Scones from Delicious Little Bites. The sweet, earthy flavor of raspberry combined with sweetness of white chocolate is perfectly balanced and sure to satisfy any sugar appetite. (Pro tip: I double the amount of raspberries called for and add a splash of pure vanilla extract to the egg and cream mixture.)

Your heart will explode into a Cupid frenzy when you combine Harney’s Valentine’s Day tea and White Chocolate Raspberry scones. While combining these two elements might seem like dessert overload, the decadent chocolate tea flavor contrasted against the white chocolate in the scone complement each other. Roses and raspberries add to the romance and complexity.

Relationships AND flavors can be complicated. Save the date, March 19, for my debut Regency novella, “The Duke’s Last Word,” Book One of the Love, Most Ardently series! You’ll meet Willa and James who have quite a complicated situation and must resolve their dilemma – For love or money, who will have the last word? To find out how their story begins, read my flash fiction prequel, “An Unwilling Lady,” available always as a FREE read in my Bookshop.

I wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day, full of love and flavor!

Cheers!

Sophie
